On January 13, 2026, Governor Brian P. Kemp administered the oath of office to Don Montgomery, officially appointing him as the Associate State Court Judge of Bryan County. Judge Montgomery brings significant legal and courtroom experience to the position. Since 2016, he has served as Solicitor-General for Bryan County. He currently serves as partner at Scheer, Montgomery & Call, P.C., where his practice focuses on criminal defense and administrative law. His background includes service in law enforcement prior to entering the legal profession, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of both prosecutorial and courtroom procedure. He serves as an instructor for multiple levels of the Judiciary and the State Bar.

In his new role, Judge Montgomery will preside over matters within the jurisdiction of the State Court, ensuring that proceedings are conducted fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with Georgia law.
